Wake Weaver
Weave between the trails left by yourself and a maze-bordering obstacle as you navigate through screens collecting coins and reaching the goal as quick as possible.
This game was made in 10 days for VimJam4 and this is the first game jam I've ever done. it was made in Godot.
All of the music, art, and code was created by me. Some sound effects were created by me while others were generated in ChipTone.
I apologize if the game seems very clunky/delayed. I spent more hours than I wish to admit trying to get the itch page to work properly because the game worked smoothly except the character was just slow compared to everything else despite the fact that it was normal in the game engine. I resorted to just increasing the initial speed of the player, but that produces a slightly delayed effect which is not desirable. Regardless, this is my biggest game I have made and it was made in the shortest amount of time yet, so I didn't expect it to be a masterpiece by any means. Hopefully it is somewhat enjoyable despite its unresolved issues, and I may revisit it and fix the issues later if a solution is discovered. For the smoothest results, try to avoid the slowing grey obstacles as much as possible. This is technically an implied goal of the game, but it is often a strategic preference to brute force through the obstacles when your trail blocks the more convenient paths, or if the more convenient paths are too long. (if the game is unplayable due to the player character being absurdly fast, it's because the game decided to work for some reason and the player is just going at the speed I set it to to combat the slow movement issue.)
